The Marvel Scientific MS24RASHRW (formerly 6EAR) is a 6.1 cubic foot Hazardous Location Refrigerator that is appropriate for non-critical temperature storage applications. Hazardous Location products are often referred to by the industry term “Explosion Proof”. The MS24RASHRW uses a “U” shaped, plate-type evaporator installed vertically across the top of the side and rear walls of the interior. Its large surface area efficiently absorbs heat to cool the well-insulated interior which is all refrigerator space.
The MS24RASHRW features a static condenser and requires additional ventilation clearance when installed under a bench. Construction features include a specially designed compressor, overload, relay and thermostat system with all electrical components enclosed to prevent accidental ignition of flammable vapors present in the ambient environment surrounding the refrigerator. The MS24RASHRW is supplied with a two-wire pigtail for hardwire connection to an appropriately rated conduit box. When installed under lab benches or within casework the MS24RASHRW requires additional ventilation clearance of 1″ from top and sides of the cabinet and 1.5″ from the back to insure proper static condenser ventilation.
